2) THIS 390 HORSE 4-SPEED CONVERTIBLE WAS FOUND IN STORAGE SINCE 1974 AND WAS PURCHASED IN 2004 AND HAS UNDERGONE A COMPLETE GROUND UP RESTORATION. MILES ARE AS SHOWN WHEN VEHICLE WAS FOUND. THERE IS NO DOCUMENTATION SO IT COULD BE ORIGINAL OR IT COULD BE A QUADZILLION MORE THAN THAT. THE MATCHING NUMBER BASE VEHICLE WAS STRIPPED TO THE FRAME AND EVERY PART THAT WAS NEEDED WAS INSTALLED. FRAME WAS BLASTED AND REPAINTED SEPARATELY FROM THE BODY. IT HAS ALL NEW BRAKE AND FUEL LINES ALONG WITH COMPLETE NEW WIRING HARNESS. ENGINE WAS REBUILT TO FACTORY SPECS AND DYNOED OUT AT 390.2 HORSEPOWER. NEW CLUTCH INSTALLED AND TRANSMISSION WAS COMPLETELY OVERHAULED ALSO TO FACTORY SPECS. iT HAS A NEW DRIVESHAFT AND NEW HALFSHAFTS THAT FEED THROUGH A POSITRACTION REAR AXLE. OLD GAS TANK WAS DISCARDED DUE TO LONG STORAGE PERIOD AND A NEW TANK WAS INSTALLED. TANK STICKER WAS REMOVED FROM OLD TANK AND IS A LAMINATED SHEET FOR PRESERVATION ALTHOUGH IT CAME OFF WITH A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF DIFFICULTY AND IS IN SEVERAL PIECES. THE STICKER WOULD NOT HAVE SHOWN MUCH AS THIS WAS A LOW OPTIONED UNIT WITH A TELESCOPIC WHEEL AND POSITRACTION AND AM/FM RADIO AS THE ONLY OPTIONS. I HAVE ALL RECEIPTS SAVED FROM THE RESTORATION AND WHEN YOU ADD THEM UP IT COMES TO SOME OVER $40,000. TIRES ARE NEW WITH GREY COBRA STYLE WHEELS WHICH I THINK ENHANCES THE LOOK OF THE CAR. THE ORIGINAL RALLEY WHEELS WITH 1974 VINTAGE TIRES ARE INCLUDED WITH THE SALE ALONG WITH WHATEVER OTHER OLD PARTS THAT YOU WOULD WANT. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL POLYGLASS SPARE TIRE. MANY PARTS WERE RECHROMED INCLUDING BUMPERS, TOP LATCHES, MIRRORS, VALVE COVERS, IGNITION SHIELDING. NEW INTERIOR WAS INSTALLED AND ORIGINAL DOOR PANELS WERE GOOD ENOUGH TO KEEP. ALL TELLITES WORK AND GAUGES RESTORED BY CORVETTE CLOCKS BY ROGER TO A TUNE OF $1200. THE CLOCK IS NOT WORKING NOW BUT ALL OTHER LIGHTS AND GAUGES DO. RADIO TURNS ON BUT HAS SHAKY RECEPTION. WIPERS AND WIPER DOOR WORK AND ALSO THE VACUUM OPERATED LIGHT DOORS WORK AS ADVERTISED. THIS CAR WAS PAINTED THE ORIGINAL CORTEZ SILVER WITH A BASE COAT/CLEARCOAT SO IS A MUCH BETTER QUALITY PAINT JOB THAN THE ORIGINAL. 35,551 miles from the odometer. September 2, 2009. 1) 1968 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Big Block 390 Horsepower 4 Speed manual transmission Telescopic Steering wheel Manual Steering Manual four wheel disc brakes Numbers matching engine Numbers matching transmission Numbers matching differential Correct Quadrajet carburetor Tank sticker. It has recently undergone a frame off restoration. The engine has been rebuilt, and run in on the engine builders dyno. 392 Horsepower and almost 500 ft lbs of torque. Transmission was rebuilt at the same time. All the chrome is original to the car and has been re-plated at the time of the restoration. The body has been smoothed and factory flaws removed. The color is correct, but done in high quality base coat clear coat. If you must have all the factory flaws in the bodywork, and original faded lacquer paint, then this car is not for you. Every effort has been made to preserve the originality of this car, while at the same time making some improvements to enhance the driving experience. I have all kinds of original parts. The 5 original AG 15x7 Rally wheels, trim rings & center caps. I have the original rear leaf spring & coils springs, sway bars, half & drive shafts etc. All new wiring throughout. New Gas tank, fuel lines & brake lines. This car needs nothing to enjoy right away. This car sat in a garage in upstate New York for over thirty years. Although I cannot verify the mileage I believe it to be actual, based on the condition of the various parts. Headlight doors & door for windshield wipers work like they should. I have the headlight stone deflectors alsonot installed. All original glass. 35,526 miles from the odometer. Colors from the owner. Built date is J09. April 26, 2009. |
